The Grand Stand of Sepang F1 Circuit is packed with spectators today
Getting ready for the final race at 5:00 p.m.
Sign of another downpour is imminent
But the situation was also bad on Sunday – the final event day. It was finally halted after 32 laps as rain pelted down, lightning flashes around the Sepang F1 circuit and visibility deteriorated. The first time in Malaysia that a race was abandoned when a ferocious rainstorm lashed the F1 Circuit. And this is the first time that Jason Lee and I witnessed the power and the roar of the F1 racing cars.
We shall be back for next year's Formula One. Come join us.
Lashing of torrential rainstorm - The race was abandoned at 6 pm when the track is just too dangerous to continue. What an abnormal ending !!

On Saturday 4 April 2009 (the day before the final event), the qualifying round was over at 6:00 p.m. – a safe completion time. At 6:45 p.m., the entire Sepang F1 Circuit was covered with black clouds threatening torrential downpour. Within minutes, it poured mercilessly with many spectators waiting for public transport completely drenched. If the final event were to continue at that moment, they would have trouble finishing with daylight disappearing.
