Holidaying in Bali

BALI, here we come !! A total of 20 team members went holidaying in Bali from 22-26 October. Only 8 of the 18 team members from the previous Chiang Mai trip continue with the Bali trip.
..
Back (L-R): KC, YauCH (Team Lead), TanYT, WoonTP, TanSL, LiewYL, Sooria, LimSH, Allan Lim, ThorSO
Front: NgCN, Richard Chew, Carol Ooi, Yvonne lin, Rose Chellapan, Yong WJ, TanWK, KwaNE, KhawHK, WongHK
.Arriving at Santika Beach Resort Hotel of Bali. Rated amongst the top graded 4-star hotels in Bali, it is almost 400 meters in distance from entrance to the beach front.
. .
There are two swimming pools in this resort but we never have the time to dip into the water.
. Proceed to Uluwatu to visit the temple built next to a 250-feet cliff.
.
There are many monkeys here but most having unique habit of snatching the spectacles/ sunglasses from the tourists. Maybe they find that wearing the designer sunglasses is very yow yeng (got style). The tourists would then have to pay the locals to retrieve the belongings; the more dangerous the task is (by the cliff), the higher the fees. Two team members' spectacles were snatched. Imagine what it is like when holidaying without your short-sighted spectacles!
.
Luckily, the monkeys in the gardens of Malaysia do not emulate the behavior of people. If they emulate running, and start chasing the runners, all runners who run in that garden would sure run with blistering pace and would have achieved impressive PB (personal best) - Motivated by fear factors.
.
Enjoying the Balinese cultural show of Kecak and Fire dance in the evening at the almost full-house amphitheatre which is surrounded by coconut and palm trees swaying from side to side by the breeze, much like the graceful cultural dance movement.
. Dinner at Jendela Bali, The Panoramic Resto. Located at the limestone hill with an altitude of 140 meters, this tastefully decorated resorts offers fine dining. This is an all-girl Japanese tourists; another half of their team is at the next table.
.Day 2 Highlights
.
Visit the Batik and hand weaving home industry. Later, visit Celuk village to see gold and silversmith jewellry handmade industry. Visit Mas village for the famous wood carving handycraft and teak wood furniture. [when you view the photo album, pay attention to the objects of wood carving]
.
Mountain with a view - Proceed to Kintamani volcano for the panorama view. Part of the mountain in black is the lava (and not under shade while taking the photo).
..
Visit Ubud market, then padi terrace at Tegalalang... a simple yet beautiful landscape
.
With the right connection of our Tour Guide, Frankie, with the Marketing Manager (I dewa Ketut Alit Yusha) of Agung Raka Bungalows, we visited this peaceful and serene resorts with the theme of kampong (country) living.

..

Frankie, our Tour Guide. He speaks good English; good in verbal communication and can sing a few romantic songs. Interestingly, he studied in UKM (Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in Bangi, Kuala Lumpur) from 1986 for four years. He has been the tour guide (in Bali) for NSTP, Panasonic, Siemens, Sime Darby, etc. He was nearly one of the victims in the Bali nightclub bombings in October 2002. With a twist of event, he was not present at that moment.

The artistic Balinese sure know how to boost and glorify the mighty thing. The magnificient bronze structure -- which is taller than yours truly -- is so real that we can see the vein some more... :-) Aiseh... and it provides firm support when I sit on the balls (as chair).
.
Stay tuned for photo albums in the next postings ...
