Team Global staged the fireworks displays on Friday 31 Aug and Saturday 1 September. It was a huge contrast: there were very few spectators as compared to those nights where the competition was taking place.

Most people would have known by then that the showcase conducted by Team Global lasted only six minutes. Compared to the 20 minutes displays in the competition, it takes a lot of effort and enthusiasm to go all the way to Putrajaya just to watch the 6-minute fireworks.

The showcase conducted by Team Global, however, keep the Merdeka Celebrations mood alive in between competition nights for the Malaysia International Fireworks Competition (MIFC) at Putrajaya.
We actually drove our cars all the way into the basement car park of Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC). Taking photos from PICC gave a different perspective and experience. It gave a panoramic view of Seri Germilang Bridge – the fireworks launch area – and the Putrajaya Boulevard as backdrop. The elevation is of almost same height as the fireworks.

On Friday 31 August night, the light at Seri Germilang Bridge was switched on, thus enhancing the effect of the fireworks. However, on Saturday 1 September, the light was switched off. The condition was not very good as it drizzled on Saturday night. Much like the finale, the rain stopped just before the start of event.
