Part 1 – Jerai_Langkawi Hiking & Betong Camping and Hiking trip from 7-14 March 2026 (Sat-Sat; self-drive trip).

Main Plan:

Day 1 (Sat, 7 Mar) – Jerai: hike Seri Perigi Waterfall (overnight at Gurun);

Day 2 (Sun, 8 ) – Jerai: hike 4 waterfalls (overnight at Jerai Hill Resort);

Day 3 (Mon, 9) – Langkawi: transfer by ferry/rent car (overnight at Adya Hotel Chenang, Langkawi);

Day 4 (Tue, 10) – Langkawi: hike Machinchang Peak (overnight same hotel); 

Day 5 (Wed, 11) – transfer to Betong: camping at Punapa Campsite;

Day 6 (Thu, 12) – Betong: hike Gunung Silipat; overnight at Cool Camping Resort;

Day 7 (Fri, 13) – Betong: view sunrise from resort; overnight at JTP River Camp; massage;

Day 8 (Sat, 14) – Betong: hike Gunung Sea of Mist Jarohkanga; shopping, return to Kuala Lumpur.

Batu Kursi Maharaja (The Emperor's Chair Rock) at Gunung Jerai.

Due to the dry season, all the streams were nearly dry. We could walk along the exposed rocky riverbed, so is sitting on the Emperor's Chair Rock.

Right in front of the Batu Kursi Maharaja is the top edge of the waterfall where the water begins its few hundred feet of vertical descent.
