Gasing Hill Trail Running

Trail running at Bukit Gasing on a hazy Sunday morning, 13 Sept 2015. Though the haze situation is not encouraging, the condition of air quality is OK when surrounded by trees.

FRIM Trail Running

Trail running at FRIM Kepong with a group of RHB Bank colleagues and friends on Saturday 5 Sep 2015 ... after the early morning rain, the ground was wet, and the air was fresh devoid of haze that engulfed Kuala Lumpur for the past few days.

With the wet ground, though it was nice to run, the trails were infested with leeches; almost all the runners were attacked by leeches. One “inquisitive” leech even tried to go through the shoelace hole of Yana. Not able to advance nor retract, it was stuck there with half the body violently trying to backtrack.

Nevertheless, it was a fun run traversing from Rover track to Pacat trail, passing by the orang alsi hut; then to Steroid hill, Salem high country and returned via Mountain Bike track. A journey that took almost 3 hours 15 minutes.

Bukit Kiara Trail Running

Trail running at Bukit Kiara with a group of RHB Bank colleagues and friends on Saturday 22 August 2015 … This is the first time that the group go for trail running other than the usual trekking trips.

Bukit Kiara is the choice location as the various trails, charted by the mountain bikers, are most pleasant to run amid the cool shade in the hills. Besides, another criteria most favoured by the ladies are the absent of leeches. As for the mosquitoes, we can always outrun them to avoid being attacked.

From the carpark, we ran towards the View Point direction. Blocked by the high fencing, we then continued via Snakes and Ladder trail to the crossroad area. The group then made a loop at the extended path of 2K trail. We have a good round of photos shoot with the mountain bikes that the bikers were most glad to lent them to us. We then returned to the carpark covering a distance of about 10km in 3 hours.

Looks like we have many potential trail runners in this group.

No passing through to View Point … we could only take a photo here with the high-fencing as background instead of the skyline of Kuala Lumpur

At the crossroad area … the energetic and vibrant all ladies’ photo – when assembling all the ladies, someone quipped that the word “all” sounds like “old”

Broga Hill and Tok Wan Trail

A few of the RHB colleagues and friend went for a trekking trip at Broga Hill and Tok Wan Trail on Saturday, 8 August 2015.

With a view to the distant horizons, Broga Hill attracts many outdoor enthusiasts and nature-loving people for a good trek to the peak. The hill was well marked, tidy and clean; thanks to the RHB mountaineers who volunteer every weekend to keep the place clean. Certain steep slope areas are guided by thick ropes to prevent any untoward incidents. There are wooden benches being erected which are good for taking a breather.

Though there are many people at Broga Hill, there were hardly anyone at Tok Wan Trail. After the previous day’s rain, it was very cooling there. Leading the pack, I ran into many of the spider webs lined across the trail.
