Genting Trailblazer 2007 - Part 3

Please click here to view 60 photos by courtesy of Hon You. The photos are taken by his friend while he ran the race.

The theme of this final posting on Genting Trailblazer 2007 (or Awana Trailblazer) is "Before and After". Before the race, as you can see, the participants were looking cool, composed and confident. Yes, they were smiling, and the shoes and socks were sparkling clean!

After Effect

It was such a great fun participating in this great event though the participants looked muddy. If not because of 4 or 5 events clashing on the same Sunday morning, I belive the turn-up would be double. Let us hope that Genting Trailblazer 2008 is back again -- and not clashing with any other events. See you next year.

Genting Trailblazer 2007 - Part 2

Please click here to view 201 photos by courtesy of kWENG. He participated in the wild category of Genting Trailblazer 2007. Committed to show others how the trails look like, he ran with his camera (strapped to his arm). He said that there was one huge bamboo plant just collapsed only a few inches from his camera.

Human jam in the jungle?

Run through the jungle... time to speed

One of the uphills

No vehicle... only runners, my buddy and me

Unique ways of going downhill?

Don't worry... let me help you

Yeah! lots of fresh air here... notice the mist behind us

Only the front runners can speed at this stretch

Yes! We love this event!

Wild and mild - the point of separation

With heavy rainfall, the stream runs quite deep

Yeah! We are out of the jungle trail

Genting Trailblazer 2007 - Part 1

Mr. Chow of Genting, the organizer, addressing the participants

Please click here to view 150 photos by courtesy of Chan Wing Kai. I see that the photographer has a few creative shots, made possible only at the Genting Trailblazer (or Awana Trailblazer) with the abundance of mud.

There are two main categories of the event – The Mild and the Wild. Obviously, the name denotes two main flavours of “keng chow” (dynamic) challenges, much like savouring the hot and spicy plate of noodles. With the mild and wild happy faces radiate from the participants, they were really having lots of fun and good times.

Stay tune for more photos from kWeng tomorrow. He ran with the camera to bring us a glimpse of the inner trails.

On 26 April 2007, early morning Shih Ming, Siok Leng, Lee and wife, Lina and husband, JooAnn and I (SC Yeoh) drove to Gopeng, Perak for our whitewater rafting, rock climbing and abseiling trip.

This trip has it all. From the excitement of tackling large rapids, enjoying the serene, beauty of a gentle paddle through lush rainforest, it was our invigorating day spent at one with nature. It is an exhilarating experience and every one of us was enjoy it very much.

Let’s see some of the picture taken below.
JooAnn was very happy while gearing up.
Story behind why she was laughing: actually she was wearing the helmet upside down.
