MK 2 - the comedy goes on
It was a continuous laugher of 90 minutes with no break during performance. The laughter is contagious and at times causing secondary ripple effect – the other audiences laugh because of some funny laughter in the hall.

Logi, acted by Distinguish Toastmaster K. Loghandran, is a World Award Winner in Public Speaking. click here and here. He is excellent in mimicking the voice of past Work Ministry, Datuk Seri Samy Velu. The favourite quote from Logi’s past performance is “Where There is a Will, There is a Highway (way)!”
In MK2, there is one part where a philosopher Swami Mahaguru Shockalingam (acted by Logi) who is back from India with his assistant Elvis Laddubonda (acted by Monti) to teach his students on what is life and try to understand why some people behave the way they do.
Interwoven in the scene is the chanting by Swami: La Ipsa loquita… Veni vidi vici … Lambada … Lavida loca … La prima Italia … Caveat emptor … Cest la vie …
Of course, the Swami also comments on the Malaysian politics sex video of Choi Soi Lek. One of the funniest moments is that Swami revealed that he is actually Samy Velu. Due to bad time, he has to change to survive. As you can see, the chants are actually Latin, French and legal words.

Conducting a workshop in June 2008
About eight years ago, I decided to join a Toastmasters club wanting to improve my public speaking skill. Which Club to join? After all, there are many clubs in Kuala Lumpur. So one day, I was introduced by a friend to a Humorous Workshop conducted by Loghandran in IBBM (Institute Bank-Bank Malaysia) Toastmasters Club.
The workshop was humorous, very lively and full of fun. Seeing and hearing the eloquent and charismatic speaker conducted the workshop, I decided that I want to join this club and emulate his professional speaking skill and the ability to instill humours. Over the number of years, I do learn a lot from him. Later, the Club changed the name to Speakers’ Dream Toastmasters Club.

Not only we get to learn public speaking in this Club, with the help of Loghandran, he directed (and acted also) a few comedy dramas involving most of the Club members:
Funny Money
Flagrante Delicto
I will Survive
The above shows were staged in The Actors Studio, Bangsar Shopping Complex, Kuala Lumpur.
With his vast experience in public speaking, we have the full confidence in him. Here is wishing him all the best in the coming ‘clash of the titans’ international speech contest. I am proud and excited to be one of the members in this Toastmasters Club.

Tall Tales Contest
Immediately after work on Monday 14 July 2008, I drove to attend a special event (Tall Tales Contest) organized by Speakers’ Dream Toastmasters Club – the club where I hone public speaking skill. Click here to know more of the Club.
Traveling along BestRaya heading towards Kuala Lumpur, I was caught in a 45-minute traffic jam. The 3-lane highway was squeezed into one lane caused by police roadblock in anticipation of protest by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s supporters. It was really an ironic situation that due to this sodomy case, the majority of folks in Kuala Lumpur are affected. Most people were not pleased with the traffic jam especially when the petrol price soared so much recently.
The Tall Tales contest is similar to a normal Club meeting except that all speakers on that day will be regaling the audience with a 3- to 5-minute long tall tales of their own making. These are not ordinary speeches. The speech must be highly exaggerated, improbable in nature and have a theme or plot. Of course, it would be fun if the speech is humorous too.
During the meeting, The Contest Chair, while addressing the audience, said: "... when come from the front, it is tsunami; from the back, it is sodomy. Now we can adjourn for tea break and have mee." The phrase rhyme... The audience gave a good round of applause.

SDTMC Toastmasters
.
Installation ceremony for Club Officers
Please click here to take a glimpse of the happenings on that evening, with photos taken by yours truly. Other than the solemnity of the occasion, it was also an evening of camaraderie, fun and games.

Applause with approval from the members
SDTMC produces numerous distinguished speakers who are now embarking on the journey as trainers, consultants, international comedian, etc. If you are interested to improve on your public speaking skills, contact me or the SDTMC EXCO for more details. The URL link of SDTMC is located at the left sidebar of this weblog.
Let us drink a toast to the Club
Being one of the past club presidents of SDTMC, I am now taking on a different role as the webmaster of the Club. That sound familiar, right? I am also the webmaster of the most talked about Pacesetters Athletic Club Malaysia (among runners), besides maintaining my own weblog, KC&SR.
Good camaraderie
As you can see, I spent much of my leisure time on the two “…ters” – the toastmasters and pacesetters. In the morning, running around as in pacesetters; in the evening, attending club meetings as in toastmasters. What a unique way to live life - stretching my limbs and brain.
